Aby (Abagail) my friend my dog in Delhi

 Present photo Abagail (Aby)

The year 2012 was about to end and start getting colder.Every employee from the office building like to walk and warmed up during lunch time.  Two of my friends also asked me to walk in front of the office compound as usual but I was quite reluctant that day due to some pending work, and somehow I was convinced and went along with them.   As we three of us were walking we saw one cute BLACK puppy wagging its tail to everyone. It may be 2 months old.  Everybody was exclaiming the puppy is very cute and lovable.    When I saw I didn't bother much as there are many puppy roam around here and there but after 2 weeks I start getting worried whether this small puppy has shelter or not. When I have gone for walk in another time, I notice that the small puppy is still there near the main gate and becomes little bit healthier, seems like someone is taking care of!

By seeing a puppy without a mother my curiosity increase inquired from many people and I was told by CISF guards that the puppy has appeared from nowhere and the monkeys  are started carrying it here and there. So they have protected this poor little fellow from monkeys in a secure place and feed her. So nice of them!
At the end of November, 2012 I have decided to adopt it no matter what! After my office hour I have picked this small puppy as I got permission from my sweet room friend whom I would never ever forget her for allowing me.

When I was about to pick her the guard has told me that the puppy’s breed is not sure whether it is Desi (Indian breed) or mixed breed and has informed me that it is female.  I said to him “No matter what I would adopt her whether it is he or she (henceforth it becomes "her" and become a family member now!!)  It was very strange that I was told “Not to abandon her in the street and take care of her".
As soon as I reached home when I show it to my roommate she exclaims that she is cute though she is black!!  And she name her “ABAGAIL” I can’t imagine that I was so blind to see her cute face and beauty though she is black in colour , …….ha ha! What in my mind was that “I NEED TO ADOPT HER BEFORE SHE BECOME A STREET DOG “

6 month old

Since then, we all of us called her “ABBY” for which she response to everybody.

I thank all of my old room mates and my house owner too for allowing me to keep her as a family members in a rented room! God bless you all!
